The project involved detailed stone fabrication and specialist installation of custom kitchen benchtops, a large statement island with curved waterfall ends, integrated sink cut-outs, full-height stone splashbacks and additional stone surfaces throughout the kitchen.
The result showcases the natural movement and distinctive character of Pieris Dolomite combined with carefully executed stone fabrication and installation.
Custom Pieris Dolomite Fabrication
A key feature of the Keilor Residence is the large Pieris Dolomite kitchen island with its distinctive curved waterfall ends.
Creating the curved profile required careful fabrication, shaping and finishing to achieve a smooth transition from the horizontal benchtop into the vertical stone surfaces.
Attention was also given to the positioning and presentation of the natural veining so that the character of the stone remained an important part of the finished design.

Large-format natural stone requires careful handling throughout fabrication, transport and installation.

TN Stone used specialist stone-handling equipment to safely manoeuvre and position the fabricated Pieris Dolomite sections within the residence.
The project included accurate positioning, sink cut-outs, edge finishing, curved stone detailing and the installation of large stone sections around the kitchen cabinetry.
Full-Height Stone Splashbacks
Pieris Dolomite was also used for full-height stone splashbacks and additional kitchen surfaces, creating continuity between the benchtops, island and surrounding cabinetry.
The soft natural tones and individual veining of the stone complement the timber cabinetry while creating a distinctive architectural finish throughout the kitchen.
